MSF highlights Bolivia’s major Chagas disease problem
03 Jul 2009 Comments (0)Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is one of the few agencies that has made Chagas disease a priority area.
A podcast from the US branch of MSF describes the work the NGO is carrying out in Bolivia, one of the countries worst afflicted by Chagas disease - 10% of the population is infected, although most people are unaware of the risks they face. It is also commonly - and wrongly - believed that no treatment is available.
The 16-minute podcast also describes MSF’s work on other diseases in other parts of the world.
