Journalists against TB
11 Jan 2011 Comments (0)TropIKA.net recently reported on a network of African journalists and scientists working together against malaria (see http://blog.tropika.net/tropika/2010/12/31/journalists-and-scientists-call-on-african-goverments-to-step-up-action-against-malaria/). It’s good to see such commitment on the infectious diseases of poverty from those whose profession is journalism. Now, we have learned of a new initiative in India - Journalists against TB.
The members of this group are aware of the scale of global TB problem and its impact but are disappointed by the failure of the media to accord it adequate attention.
As “a way to circumvent the mainstream media and still have our say”, Journalists against TB have launched a blog that looks as if it will be worth keeping an eye on. Give it a try on: http://journalistsagainsttb.wordpress.com/
